//Hi. I am (名字隱去) who have called a while ago about potential collaboration of book fair and book reading at Kwun Tong Promenade during the Hong Kong Shenzhen Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism. Now we have a more concrete schedule of the events and I hope we can start the discussion again if Coming Society will be interested in organize a book fair/booking reading in mid January. We are also inviting some film makers from the City University of Hong Kong and Academy of Visual Arts for film screening in the same period. Their work are mostly about social enclave and informal urbanism. I think these events can be themed together that leads to the discussion about rights to the city & beyond. Please let me know when can be a good time for us to talk more. Thanks for your time and hope hear from you sonn. Best, //
//Hi (名字隱去) May I have more information about the event? Is it a one-off weekend event or gonna be a long term exhibition? And it is interesting that you picked rights to the city as a theme, I would love to hear your opinion on this topic. Do you want to chat over phone? Or maybe we can have a meeting this weekend at our shop. Best regards Holok Manager, The Coming Society //
Withdrawal from the 2013 HK-SZ Bi-City Biennial of Urbanism & Architecture （Anson Mak
the withdrawal is not a merely a pulling out, but a boycott regarding EKEO's sponsorship. the withdrawal is also a boycott to use EKEO place -- kwun tong promenade (under the highway at the water front)
it is not merely because i don't agree to the hk govt policy on turning east kln (especially kwun tong area) to a CBD2; but also, EKEO does not respect members of the community at kwun tong/ngau tau kok industry buildings. i must stress, the users/lessees of industrial buildings.
after i read/understand more the past boycott activities particularly related to usage of the location -- kwun tong promenade (under the highway at the water front), i believe, going on boycotting is needed, as a stronger gesture to state the problems and lack of consultation of the community from EKEO and hk govt. it also means, by NOT using that place continuously and by more people, it is a stronger statement to declare the wrong doings of EKEO and the hk govt policy of the lack of vision policy to turn Kwun Tong into a CBD without adequate consultation and understanding of the actual situations there. at present, the policy and also the administrative body (EKEO) are not working best for both the community and the cultural/economic development in Hong Kong at large.
Originally, i want to release part of my research regarding artists' studios in industrial buildings in kwun tong/ngau tau kok area. This statement is to declare that i will not do it in the event/biennial. As what we have planned in other channels for publication, we will release the research findings in a book and a new web site in mid-late 2014.
（We regret the unfortunate Chinese translation of LUFSIG into Cantonese and this is being corrected.）
不少人已經指出，今天的所謂專家，乃是「對愈來愈狹窄的領域知道得愈來愈多的人」 (one who knows more and more about less and less) 。
